Western Disturbance W(11) hit the country last night & it is likely to continue till 11th April with gaps!
Chances of Thunderstorms accompanied by Rainfall & gusty winds at scattered places of Punjab

, Kpk & Kashmir while at isolated places of north eastern Balochistan whereas some Rain may also occur at isolated places of Baltistan during next "6" hours & more details tomorrow!

Showers might also occur at few places of Hyderabad and Karachi during next 24 to 48hrs from thunder cloud developments.

Chances of scattered Thundershowers in extreme upper Punjab & Kashmir while Thundershowers may occur at isolated places of north western , western Sindh , south Punjab , north eastern , eastern Balochistan & Kpk whereas some Thundery Clouds may also develop at isolated places of north eastern & central Sindh during next "24" hours!
Western Disturbance W(11) or Cold front (17-16) is likely to hit the country tomorrow & it is expected to continue till 11th April with gaps , details will be issued in "24" hours forecast only!

Chances of Rain with Thunderstorm at isolated to scattered places of upper Sindh (Larkana & Sukkur divisions) , south Punjab (Multan , DG khan & hit miss chances for Bahawalpur divisions) , north eastern & eastern Balochistan (Quetta , Zhob , Sibi & Kalat divisions) during next "24" hours.

Some chances of Thundershowers or Showers at isolated to scattered places of central parts of Punjab (Sargodha , Faisalabad & Sahiwal divisions) during next "24-36" hours.

Weather Update For 5th April 2016:

Good mid-level Clouds have entered in south western & western Balochistan from Gulf & these Clouds are expected to produce Drizzle or isolated Showers in parts of south western & western Balochistan tonight!
These Clouds are likely to intensify over eastern & north eastern Balochistan where Rainfall is expected & some moderate falls are also expected at isolated places of north eastern Balochistan & Thundershowers or Showers are also expected at isolated to scattered places of upper Sindh , central & south Punjab while by chance Drizzle may also occur at isolated places of western Sindh tomorrow then these Clouds will move towards northern Pakistan where scattered Rain is also expected on 6th April!

Monsoon Update #02

MONSOON UPDATE #02:
There r different and contradictive news about la nina at different levels, here is the pwd's version on it as of today for coming months, it may need review in June. The Australian met, says there r 50/50 chances between la nina and neutral enso to fallow this el nino, though in there past fortnight report and before them, they were putting la nina chances at 40% to occur, now they rose it to 50%. The worth mentioning difference between past report and this 30th report is, the further cooling of subsurface waters below western Pacific and central Pacific with some rapid eastward movement plus squeezing of warm anamolies below east Pacific, remember that the warm sub surface anamolies under east Pacific had 150 m depth and waters were 7 c warmer than normal during peak around October 2015 now they have squeeze to 50 m with only 1 c above normal temperatures. The other indicators like soi, trade winds, cloudiness near date line, ssts etc r consistent with decreasing el nino. The iod is likely to remain neutral during ms with slight possibility of negative in August 2016, though the models r usually not good enough to forecast iod for nothern hemisphere summer, mainly because of lack of data like sub surface waters, we have normally seen in past that its extremely difficult to predict iod untill the full establishment of cross equatorial flow.

Monsoon Update for the Sub-Continent:

MONSOON UPDATE:
CFS is predicting above normal Rains in Sindh & south eastern & adjoining eastern Punjab in June!
It is showing heavy Pre-Monsoon Rains in Sindh & south eastern & adjoining eastern Punjab in June!
According to CFS , heavy Pre-Monsoon spells are also expected in Rajasthan & Indian Meteorological Department has predicted excess Rainfall in most parts of India in June!
According to IMD , Rains may increase in western & north western India mainly from July & September is expected to remain wet to very wet in most parts of sub-continent & CFS is also agree on the forecast of September!

A short spell of Rainfall (isolated moderate to heavy) with Thunderstorms is heading towards north eastern Balochistan & Thundershowers or Showers may also occur at isolated to scattered places of upper Sindh , south Punjab , eastern , southern & central Balochistan whereas partly Cloudy weather in other parts of southern & central Pakistan between tonight & afternoon of 6th April!

RAINY SYSTEM UPDATE:

Strong Western Disturbance W(11) or Cold front (17-16) is likely to hit the south western parts of the country from 7th April & it is likely to spread into the other parts of the country from 8th April & it is expected to continue till 13th April with gaps!
Chances of Rainfall in 70-80% areas of the country during that spell but details will be issued in "24" hours forecast only!
Another Western Disturbance or Cold front (18-16) is expected to hit the country after 15th April!
Heat wave is expected to hit the country before or during mid-April but intensity can't be confirmed right now!

Weather Update for 4th April 2016:

Hot and humid weather is expected in southern parts of the country however few thundery developments might take place over isolated parts of Sindh and Baluchistan,A western LOW pressure (western disturbance/cold front) is effecting upper and central parts of the country and will be showing its effects on the country till 7th April.

During this spell moderate to heavy rains with hails are expected in upper pak KASHMIR,KPK,GILGIT BALDISTAN,PUNJAB (Hunza,Jammu,sirinagar,Katra,leh,kargil,skardu,gilgit,peshawar,murre,balakot,naran,malamjabba,ISLAMABAD,rawalpindi,Gujrat,kharian,lahore,gujranwala,DI khan,sargodha and neary by areas.

Moderate rain with hails and thunder/lightning is also expected in the areas of northern parts of Baluchistan(Zhob,mukhtar,loralai,duki,kohlo,barkhan and nearby areas),drizzle is also expected in Sibi,quetta and nearby areas.it might effect few parts of upper sindh too

HISTORY IN REVIEW 3RD APRIL

On 3rd April 2015 in Larkana , it was clear during morning time , strong formation started in west of Larkana around "1" pm which griped the city around "2" pm with heavy Rainfall for "1-2" minutes then became Cloudy. Around "3" pm strange scary Clouds appeared from all sides except west but the Clouds which were in west side were heavy actually. Severe Thunderstorm with loud Thunder & scary Lightning appeared followed by Torrential Rainfall for few minutes but less than 30 minutes & flooded the whole streets & roads.
"35" mm of Rainfall recorded Shukar Alhamdolillah.
It was heaviest spell of April 2015 & heaviest Western Disturbance of 2015. Total "44" mm of Rainfall recorded during that spell (9 mm on 2nd April & 35 mm on 3rd April).

Weather outlook of April 2016!

Above normal precipitation is expected in most parts of the country but normal in northern Balochistan & eastern & south eastern Sindh.
One Western Disturbance is already affecting Pakistan & widespread Western Disturbance is likely to hit the country from 7th April & "3" more Western Disturbances are likely in this month.
Normal temperatures are expected in most parts of the country with some above normal in plains of Sindh.
Frequent Thunderstorms are expected in northern Pakistan & south western Balochistan during this month.
Heavy Rainfall may occur in northern Pakistan in every week time to time.
Overall good precipitation is expected in most parts of the country & most parts of the country may see Cloudy conditions time to time in this month but it depends on western systems.
